Favre just can’t keep his mouth shut

Posted by Troy Vosseller on October 4, 2011

The guy just doesn’t understand walking away and being in the shadows. (I guess not surprising after he turned down $20M to just sell tickets and retire as a god). Now Pro Football Talk is reporting that Favre was surprised it took Rodgers three years to win a Super Bowl.

“I’m going to be honest, I was not surprised,” Favre said. “The biggest surprise to me would be that he didn’t do it sooner. . . . Aaron had a chance . . . even though the last couple years it’s seemed like he’s almost a rookie, he’s been around awhile,” Favre said. “So I’m really kind of surprised it took him so long. Really, the early part of last year season, it hadn’t quite clicked yet and I didn’t know if it would.”

Thanks for the commentary Brent – We’ll Never Forget You! I can’t wait for the oral diarrhea he spews after Rodgers leads his team to a second Super Bowl victory; someone call Greta Van Susteren (who’s actually a Sconnie herself).

Favre, nah, Kluwe

Posted by Troy Vosseller on September 22, 2011

An email from a fan:

Hey there,

Packer fan living in Minnesota here, have my whole life. My dad grew up in Milwaukee, and went to St. Norbert and worked at Lambeau in the 60′s. Needless to say i’m a lifelong packer fan.

I also hate the vikings, by far more than any other team. So when favre went there I tore all the shit out of my packer room (i had one at the time it was very impressive, i’ll share the link with you on youtube if you don’t post it anywhere)

So personally i can’t stand favre and love your shirts.

One thing i think is great, is that the vikings have already given out #4 to the punter of all people, showing how quickly the vikings have forgotten him. His jerseys were going for like $5 at the last draft party.
I’m attaching a picture of what many vikings fans are doing with there favre jerseys.

Hope you like it and you find it blog-worthy.

-Tim
We certainly did find if blog worthy Tim…

Bing.com Attempts to Predict Super Bowl

Posted by Troy Vosseller on February 3, 2011

In anticipation of Sunday’s Super Bowl, Bing, the decision engine from Microsoft, has released data from search results and a recent user survey, giving insight into the top searched NFL teams, favorite players, best tailgating cities, top food choices and best looking NFL players.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers are the 4th and 5th searched NFL teams respectively, but the top searched NFL team on Bing.com is the Dallas Cowboys. In terms of favorite players, Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning is the player 55% of users would like to watch the game with and the overwhelming “fan favorite,” followed by Tom Brady, who did, however, earn the title of “best looking player in the NFL” amongst 39% of users. Having a famous woman in your little black book may play a factor in ranking the best looking players as Jessica Simpson’s ex Tony Romo and Kim Kardashian’s ex Reggie Bush take the 2nd and 3rd spots on Bing’s list of best looking NFL players.

In terms of predicting the winner, we here at BrentFavre.com think the results are a bit skewed (for now)…almost dead even with 51% for the Steelers and 49% for the Packers.

Cheer for the Packers and Raise Money for the Boys and Girls Club

Posted by Troy Vosseller on February 3, 2011

Coke and the Boys and Girls Club of America are offering one more way for Green Bay to crush Pittsburgh, this time in their Coke Cheers campaign. By visiting www.cokecheers.com and “cheering” for your favorite team (hint. Green and Gold) in this weekend’s Super Bowl, Coca-Cola will donate $1 for each cheer generated.

Coca-Cola will give a minimum of $100,000 dollars and a maximum of $250,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of America, and if fans of the real Titletown can exceed 10,000 “cheers”, Coca-Cola will donate an additional $25,000 dollars to just the Green Bay chapter.

So take just a moment of your time and head on over to www.cokecheers.com to help make a difference for the Boys and Girls Club of America.

Man Delays Calling 911 to Watch the Packers

Posted by Troy Vosseller on January 30, 2011

A recent Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal article highlights the passion of Packers fans. The story focuses on the Packers season ticket waiting list (the waiting list is 86,000 deep and the Packers estimate only 90 tickets turn over each year). However, the best (albeit saddest) part of the story comes at the end:

Yes, people take their Packers seriously around here. Raymond Raab of Menomonee Falls was watching the playoff game against Atlanta two weeks ago and was feeling ill. His concerned wife, Louise, wanted to call 911.

“He said, ‘No, no, no, I want to watch the Packer game,’ ” Louise said. “Finally, when they were ahead by so much, he said, ‘OK, you can call 911 now.’ ”

Ray Raab died nine days later.

“I’m not really a Packer fan, but I guess I’ll be watching the Super Bowl,” Louise said. “I think Ray is getting a kick out of this.”

Why not? He’s got the best seat in the house. And he only had to wait 81 years for it.

RIP Ray.
